PICC Team StarChase Announces Seatter for Shanghai Double-Header
Posting Date:2013-4-8

Shanghai, China (April 6, 2013) – Reigning Porsche Carrera Cup Asia champions PICC Team StarChase have announced young female talent Natasha Seatter of Malaysia for the upcoming double header supporting the 2013 FORMULA 1 UBS CHINESE GRAND PRIX.

Regular team driver, Alexandre Imperatori, will be busy contesting the Silverstone round of the FIA World Endurance Championship in preparation for his debut in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.

Twenty-year old Seatter has been dubbed ‘Asia’s fastest female formula driver’, and most recently won the Gulfsport Trophy at the Dubai Autodrome at the end of March.  She began her career in karts, going on to win a scholarship to the Petronas Formula Xperience in 2009.  The following season she joined Formula BMW Pacific with the Petronas Mofaz Racing Team, contesting a second season with the renamed Formula JK Series in 2011.

In March this year, Natasha made her first foray into GT competition, contesting the Malaysian Super Series race in support of the Grand Prix where she beat a number of seasoned sportscar campaigners.

Commented Seatter, during preparations for her debut with PICC Team StarChase:  “The last two weeks have been very busy for me training for my first drive in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.  The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is a powerful car with excellent braking and immense grip out of the corners. It’s a real pleasure to drive although it handles quite differently from my Formula car being almost double the weight. I owe a huge thanks to PICC Team StarChase for their confidence in my ability to drive for them at the upcoming Shanghai round. “

While the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia is the pinnacle of GT racing in the region, Seatter will be making her debut with a championship-winning team, and PICC Team StarChase has pledged to put its formidable expertise behind her.

Said StarChase Chief Operations Officer Mr. Robby Niermann: “PICC Team StarChase is delighted to have Natasha on board for this important double-header in Shanghai.  Natasha has proved she is a quick learner and, while the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is a thoroughbred GT racing car, we are confident she will master it with her characteristic determination.  We are delighted to be working with such an exciting young talent, and she can depend on the support and expertise of the entire team.”

Originally scheduled as Round 2 of the 2013 championship, a second race has been added to the Shanghai weekend, giving PICC Team StarChase and newcomer Seatter two opportunities to compete at China’s most high-profile and prestigious motorsport weekend.

StarChase Holdings was established in 2006, and opened the first of its Porsche Centers in China, in Nanjing, in 2007. The following year saw the establishment of its corporate office, StarChase Consulting, as well as the debut of Team StarChase in the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.  2011 saw operations begin at Porsche Centers Qingdao and Zhengzhou, while Porsche Center Jinan commenced operations in June, 2012.  StarChase has also been appointed to open Porsche Centers in Weifang and Chongqing, scheduled to open in the coming year.
